Diesel Jeans Founder Creating Italian Version of French Luxury Conglomerates LVMH, Kering
Diesel founder Renzo Rosso told the Financial Times that he envisions his Italian luxury fashion empire, including sister brands Jil Sander and Marni, as one that draws inspiration from Kering, LVMH and other big names known in the space and will compete with them.
Rosso, president of the Only The Brave holding company, founded Diesel in 1978 when he was 23 and now employs more than 6,000 people across seven fashion brands worldwide, according to the report published on Sunday (July 10).
“Italy doesn’t have a national luxury conglomerate like the French one,” he told the FT. “I plan to create one.” According to the report, it includes a stock listing and plans to hire bankers to advise it.
